New Delhi. Mahindra This shows the increasing competition among eco-friendly vehicles launched in India in the last one year. The award was presented by Dr. Raghupati Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, JK Tire & Industries to Nalinikant Gollaguna, CEO, Automotive Division, Mahindra at the annual ICOTY Awards ceremony. JK Tire has been associated with ICOTY and IMOTY Awards since its inception.
How were the awards given?
The jury of COTY 2026 included 19 eminent automotive journalists from leading print and digital publications of the country, including Auto Today Editor Yogendra Pratap and Associate Editor Dipayan Dutta. Each jury member was given 25 marks, in which only a maximum of 10 marks could be given to any one model. The jury was required to distribute its marks among at least five contending vehicles, to ensure fairness, transparency and reduce the possibility of personal bias.
Green Car Award
Launched under ICOTY, the Green Car Awards aim to recognize vehicles that show significant progress in sustainability, whether in the form of electric powertrains, hybrid technology, alternative fuels or exceptional improvements in mileage and emissions. Like the main ICOTY Awards, vehicles are evaluated on a number of parameters, such as price, energy efficiency, design, comfort, safety, performance, practicality, technological innovation, value for money and utility for Indian driving conditions.
