Paschim Champaran Cold Day Alert: Like entire Bihar, West Champaran is also in the grip of extreme cold. In view of the falling mercury, the administration has changed the timing of schools and outdoor activities have been banned. The havoc of cold will continue.
West Champaran. Due to cold winds, dense fog and falling temperature, cold day conditions have started in many districts of North Bihar. Cold day conditions prevailed in all rural and urban areas of West Champaran district on Friday. The maximum temperature in the district was recorded at 15.4 and minimum at 13 degrees. Due to dense fog and cloudy sky there was no sunlight throughout the day.
The effect of the cold winds blowing from the Himalayas was such that people were forced to hide in their homes. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the district administration came on alert mode and keeping in mind the adverse impact on the health and life of children, the timing of operation of schools was changed.
School timings changed due to cold day
District Magistrate Taranjot Singh, while issuing important orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code 2023, has completely banned the educational activities of all classes in all government and private schools of West Champaran district before 09:00 am and after 04:30 pm. Let us tell you that these also include pre-schools and Anganwadi centres. However, special classes and examinations conducted for pre-board and board examinations have been kept exempted from this.
Red alert in these districts including West Champaran
According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, on Saturday, the day will start with very dense fog in districts like West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi and Shivhar, the effect of which will be visible throughout the day. Along with this, due to lack of sunlight and cold westerly winds, cold day conditions will persist throughout the day.
Considering the seriousness of the situation, IMD has issued a red alert for these districts. Orange alert has been issued in a total of 26 districts including Patna, Gaya, Jehanabad, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Jamui, Munger, Saharsa.
