Deputy District Attorney Rajkumar said that the case was pending in the fast track court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Hemram. The court has convicted Poonam, resident of village Titana Hall, Mohan Nagar, Kurukshetra, Vikram alias Vicky of her village, Vikramjeet alias Bittu, resident of Kaithal Cheeka Ward- 17, Kinnar, originally from village Narnaund, Sunil Kumar, resident of Mata Gate Kaithal, Manish Kumar, resident of village Bhagwangadhi, UP Aligarh, guilty of Arms Act, conspiracy to commit robbery and murder.
At the same time, the doctor’s other servant Ketram, resident of UP, and arms supplier Umesh, resident of UP, have been acquitted due to lack of evidence.
The crime was committed on the pretext of taking cake
It is noteworthy that on January 9, 2023, at around 9.30 pm, miscreants entered the house of famous doctor Dr. Atul Arora located above his clinic in Sector-13 of the city on the pretext of taking a cake and took Dr. Atul Arora and his parents hostage at gunpoint. Gynecologist Dr. Vineeta Arora, wife of Dr. Atul Arora, was killed by attacking her on the head with a heavy object. The miscreants had absconded with the gold and silver ornaments kept in the temple of the doctor couple’s house and cash worth Rs 1.5 lakh.
Dr. Atul Arora, who was held hostage in the room, saved his life by jumping onto the neighboring roof and also raised an alarm. By then the miscreants had fled after committing the crime. City police station Thanesar had registered a case under various sections including robbery, murder, Arms Act.
The maid had worked for a few months
After the miscreants repeatedly asked the doctor where the temple was in the house, the police suspected that an employee was involved in the incident. After police investigation, the mastermind of the incident, Poonam, a resident of Mohan Nagar, a maid who had worked in the house of a doctor couple for a few months, was caught. The entire incident came to light during his interrogation. Poonam herself had committed this crime along with her lover, Vikram, a resident of her village Titana Kaithal, and his friends. Police had arrested seven accused involved in the crime, including Poonam, Vikram and the doctor couple’s servant Ketram.
