Mahindra & Mahindra is bringing major changes in its Thar, Scorpio and XUV700, new electric SUV like XEV 9S has been launched and XUV 7XO is coming soon. Mahindra is currently counted among the most popular car maker companies of India. The company’s portfolio includes many models in petrol and EV versions.
New Delhi. Mahindra & Mahindra is once again focusing on those SUVs which made a strong mark for it in the Indian market. The company is preparing major changes for its most popular models – Thar, Scorpio and XUV700. Electrification has been made central to Mahindra’s long-term plans and recently the company launched the XEV 9S, which is the first 3-row electric SUV inspired by the XUV.e8 concept. Sitting close to the XEV 9e and BE 6 in the brand’s EV portfolio, the XEV 9S carries forward the recognizable design language of the XUV700. XUV700 is ready for major changes even in models with internal combustion engine. Its new version will be launched next month with the name of XUV 7XO and its booking has already started.

The size of the SUV will remain the same, but some important changes will be made in its exterior. The real change will be seen in its interiors, where Mahindra is designing a completely new dashboard, which will have a large triple-screen setup like the XEV 9S. Apart from this, cabin themes, trims and material quality will also be improved and many new features will be added.
Mahindra’s lifestyle SUV
Thar is also going to step into the electric era. The electric version of the five-door Thar Rocks was shown through the Vision T concept, which retains the boxy design and powerful looks, but adds futuristic EV design elements. The new Thar EV built on NU_IQ architecture will have multiple battery pack options and dual-motor setup, which will provide four-wheel drive.
Mahindra Scorpio
There is going to be a big change in the Scorpio series also. Mahindra’s Vision S concept gave a glimpse of a more premium and compact Scorpio N, which will be built away from the traditional ladder-frame construction. The upcoming Scorpio will be based on NU_IQ platform. Although it has been seen testing several times, the new compact Scorpio is expected to be launched only in late 2026 or early 2027. Meanwhile, the current Scorpio N will also get a mid-life update in the next few months, which will bring minor cosmetic changes and has already been spotted road testing.
