Varanasi: The harsh cold continues in Uttar Pradesh. Due to the double attack of fog and cold, the speed of vehicles on the roads has also stopped. On the other hand, the minimum temperature has also dropped to 4 degrees Celsius in UP. Normal life is badly affected due to the continuously increasing cold in the state. Amidst all this, the Indian Meteorological Department i.e. IMD has again issued an alert regarding fog and cold wave. According to the information received from the Zonal Weather Center located in Amausi, Lucknow, on December 22, there will be dense fog in many cities of Eastern UP as well as Western UP in the morning. Due to fog, visibility may be 100 to 200 meters in a dozen districts. Apart from this, even today in many cities people will shiver due to cold like night during the day.
Orange alert issued for these cities
On Monday (22 December), orange alert has been issued in Kanpur, Rae Bareli, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh and Fatehpur regarding dense fog along with cold day. People need to be more alert in these cities.
Fog will be seen here too
Apart from this, moderate to dense fog can also be seen in Varanasi, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Amethi, Ballia, Mau, Sultanpur, Basti, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Sant Kabirnagar and Siddharthnagar. Yellow alert has been issued regarding this. Whereas, moderate fog is expected in Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, Aligarh, Hathras, Agra, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Etah, Mainpuri, Jalaun, Hardoi and Auraiya. Let us tell you that in different districts of the state, the minimum temperature is expected to be 5 and the maximum temperature will be 25 degree Celsius.
Relief from fog in Lucknow today
The people of the capital Lucknow got relief from dense fog today. Only light fog was seen in Lucknow in the morning. The weather department estimates that today the minimum temperature here will be around 12 and maximum 20 degrees Celsius. In the next 48 to 72 hours, it may decrease by 3 degrees Celsius. If we talk about Noida adjacent to Delhi, light fog may be seen there with the beginning of the day. However, the weather will clear there as the day progresses. There will also be sunshine during this period.
Melting increased due to icy winds
BHU meteorologist Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava said that melting has increased due to the icy winds in UP. It is expected that in the next two days, there may be a rise of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature in different cities of UP. There may also be a slight increase in the minimum temperature.
