New Delhi. Toyota is preparing to strengthen its presence in India and under this the company is planning to launch about 15 new vehicles by 2030. The next phase of this expansion may start from 2026, in which many SUVs, electric models and updated vehicles will be brought for the Indian market. Let us know about these vehicles in detail.
Toyota’s electric range
Toyota’s electric range will start with the Urban Cruiser BEV. This five-seater vehicle was introduced globally some time ago. It will be based on the platform and battery technology of Maruti Suzuki E Vitara, which will be launched in the market next month. This model of Toyota will give a driving range of more than 500 kilometers and it will also have many advanced features.
Urban Cruiser Highrider
Along with this, Toyota is also preparing to update its popular midsize SUV Urban Cruiser Highrider. Its mid-cycle refresh may come next year, in which mainly design changes and new features will be added. Major changes can also be seen in the cabin, in which Level 2 ADAS feature can be included. The existing 1.5 liter mild-hybrid and strong-hybrid petrol engines will remain the same as before. The impact of Toyota’s global developments will also be visible on India’s plans. The recently introduced new Hilux is in the news for its powerful design and modern features. Built on Toyota’s “Tough and Agile” design philosophy, this vehicle is inspired by the Land Cruiser family. It has been given a higher stance, wide front and slim headlamps. It is expected that these design elements will also be seen in the next generation Fortuner.

What further strengthens this possibility are the powertrain options available in the new Hilux, which include petrol, diesel, 48V mild-hybrid and fully electric variants. This may also open up many drivetrain options for the future Fortuner. Toyota may bring the new Hilux to India next year, while the new generation Fortuner may also arrive during the same period.
land cruiser prado
Toyota is also considering launching its premium SUV Land Cruiser Prado in India. It is expected that this vehicle will arrive as a CBU import next year. This large SUV is built on the TNGA-F ladder-frame platform and has a hybrid system consisting of a 2.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine with a 1.87 kWh battery and electric motor.
