ISRO Latest Mission Launch: ISRO will launch LVM3-M6 mission on 24 December. This rocket will carry the 6500 kg Bluebird Block-2 satellite into space. It has a huge antenna of 223 square meters. This mission will provide 5G connectivity directly to mobile. This is a joint mission of ISRO’s commercial arm NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and the American company.
New Delhi: ISRO’s Bahubali rocket LVM3 will make its sixth operational flight from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. The name of this mission is LVM3-M6 which will launch America’s Bluebird Block-2 satellite into the sky. The agency has fixed the time for launch at 8.54 am on December 24. This will be the heaviest commercial mission ever in the history of ISRO. With this launch, a new revolution is about to come in the world of mobile connectivity. NewSpace India Limited i.e. NCL has signed this historic agreement with America’s AST Spacemobile company.
What is Bluebird Block-2 that will change the mobile world?
Bluebird Block-2 is no ordinary satellite. This will be the largest commercial communications satellite ever sent into Low Earth Orbit i.e. LEO. Its most special feature is its antenna. It has a huge ‘phased array’ of 223 square meters. It is as big as a small house in size.
Its weight is approximately 6500 kg making it the heaviest payload carried by an LVM3 rocket. This mission has been designed to provide direct mobile connectivity across the world. This means that now your phone will have network even without a tower.
