Dilkhush Jha/Araria: According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of adverse effect on the health of small children and students in view of the extreme cold and low temperature conditions especially in the morning and evening in Araria district. In this sequence, District Magistrate Araria Shri Vinod Duhan, I.P. Under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023, educational activities up to class 5 in all government and private schools (including pre-schools, Anganwadi centers and coaching institutes) in Araria district have been banned till 24.12.2025.
Educational activities for classes above class 5 can be conducted between 11:00 am to 03:00 pm. Anganwadi centers will remain open from 12:00 noon to 02:00 pm to provide hot food to children. Special classes and examinations conducted for pre-board/board examinations will be exempted from this order. During this period, teachers and non-teaching staff in schools will remain on their duties.

In view of the increasing cold, bonfires have been arranged at a total of 48 places in all 9 blocks of the district, so that the common people can get relief from the cold wave. Along with this, blankets are also being distributed continuously among the needy, helpless and destitute people. Blankets were distributed by the District Officer himself. Blankets were also distributed at many places through various officials of the district, so that timely assistance could be provided to the people affected by the cold.
