Natural detox
Rehman explains that Gurbandi is a small grain of almond, but it has great benefits. Gurbandi almond is the most special among the dry fruits of Afghanistan. It is also called ‘small almond’, but its medicinal properties make it different from other almonds. Its size may be small and its taste slightly bitter, which reflects the high amount of natural oils present in it. It contains abundant amount of Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin-E, which helps in maintaining skin moisture in winter and sharpening memory. Similarly, they also have macadamia nuts and Afghani pistachios which are known for their dark green color and sweet fragrance. The craze of macadamia nuts has also increased rapidly among fitness freaks. Macadamia nuts are grown in the mountains of Afghanistan. According to experts, macadamia nuts contain ‘monounsaturated fats’, which are helpful in controlling cholesterol levels. They also have Afghan apricots and figs, which are powerhouses of natural detox fiber.
saffron tea
Rahman tells that in his Afghanistan, tea is made from saffron fibers and it is used as an immunity booster especially in winter. It is called saffron tea. Its special thing is that nothing like sugar, tea leaves etc. is used in it, instead saffron is used. You can also add a little honey in it for taste. Rahman says that the soil and climate of Afghanistan give a special ‘Ardi flavor’ (scent of soil) to these dry fruits. Due to being dried without any adulteration and in a natural way, they also have a long shelf life. Afghani dry fruits are the best way to increase immunity in winter. The antioxidants present in them protect against cold and cough.
