Once upon a time, fear of leopards and tigers was common in the forests of Chaubatiya area. The people of Pilkholi village and their animals lived in constant danger, due to which an atmosphere of panic prevailed in the entire area.
Mother appeared in a dream to a person of Pilkholi village, the Goddess told the location of her idol buried in the ground and said that by building a temple there and consecrating it there, the area will be freed from the terror of wild animals.

The villagers took out the idol from the indicated place and established the temple. It is believed that after this the terror of wild animals in the area ended, due to which the faith of the people became even deeper.
In the month of Sawan, children used to swing near the temple, seeing which the mother appeared in the dream of a devotee and said that she also wanted to swing. Since then the idol of the goddess was placed on a wooden swing and the temple was called ‘Jhula Devi’.
When the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled, they offer copper bells in the temple. The lakhs of bells hanging in the temple premises are a proof of this faith. According to the priest, Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam has also visited here. Special crowd is seen in the temple during Navratri.
Nestled amidst the calm hills of Almora, this temple is a great tourist spot for domestic and foreign tourists along with a center of faith, from where you can experience nature closely.
