Faridabad: Haryana Government had launched ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora Portal’ on 4 July 2019. Actually, the government wanted that the benefits of crop purchase and government schemes should reach the farmers in a direct and transparent manner. For this, it was necessary that an accurate record of the field crop and yield be maintained. Now for Kharif 2025, 12,80,674 farmers have registered on this portal and details of 73.48 lakh acres of land have been recorded. Last year, 10,34,091 farmers had enrolled in Kharif 2024 and 9,72,821 farmers in Rabi 2024-25. It is clear that farmers have started adopting this portal and their trust is also increasing. Due to this, they are directly getting the benefits of crop purchase, grant, compensation and relief schemes.
what is the benefit
Improvements have been made in the portal
Deepak had earlier also raised the problems of the portal to the government through Local18. Improvements were also made at that time and now the portal is running better than before. New features have also been added which have made the work easier. Like, now there is WhatsApp OTP feature which was not there earlier. But there is a problem in this also, OTP is not coming properly due to which farmers get stuck in registration and login. Deepak hopes that if this matter reaches the government properly, it will be solved in the same way as the earlier problems were solved.
Still, Deepak believes that the portal has eliminated many major problems. Bank verification, account linking, land record updating are now much easier than before. Earlier farmers used to be worried about verification and document uploading, now this is no longer a big problem. Deepak says, whatever complaints the farmers have should reach the government so that the real purpose of the portal can be fulfilled.
What will be the benefit to the government?
Deepak told another big advantage of the portal that the government now knows which crop has been sown in which area and in how many areas and what will be the estimated yield this time. With this, the government can prepare in advance; the need for mandis, demand for sacks, number of laborers and capacity of procurement centers can be estimated. If sowing of any crop is less then planning of imports from other states is also done on this data.
There is a problem in distribution of DAP and urea.
But some serious problems still remain. The distribution of DAP and urea fertilizers is linked to the portal and only registered farmers are getting these fertilizers. Those who are not registered are facing difficulty in getting fertilizer. On top of this, there are also complaints of DAP being sold in black in the market. Many shopkeepers are charging up to Rs 300 more. Due to this, weak farmers are suffering huge losses.
Portal can bring a big revolution
