Home Remedy for Joint Pain Nagaur: Seema Devi of Nagaur has shared the recipe of traditional chakki made of jaggery, sesame, ghee and gram for back and knee pain. This nutrient-rich sweet strengthens the bones and proves to be a better and safer option than medicines for joint pain.
Nagaur: Due to today’s busy life, long sitting hours and lack of nutrition, back pain and knee pain are becoming a common problem. This pain not only causes physical discomfort but also affects daily activities and quality of life. Amidst these problems, traditional home remedies are emerging as a simple and safe solution.
In Ayurveda, elements like jaggery, ghee, gram, sesame and fennel are considered panacea for strengthening bones and joints. Villager Seema Devi of Nagaur has told about one such traditional Chakki (sweet), which is not only wonderful in taste but is also very beneficial for health. The ingredients required to make it like jaggery, desi ghee, whole or roasted gram, white sesame and a little fennel are easily available in the kitchen. All these ingredients are considered to be a storehouse of nutrients.

According to Seema Devi, it is very easy to make. First of all, put jaggery in a pan and melt it on low flame. When the jaggery melts completely, add one spoon of desi ghee in it and mix well. After this, add gram in it and stir lightly so that the gram gets coated well in jaggery. Finally add white sesame seeds and a little fennel and mix all the ingredients well. After this, turn off the gas and take out the mixture in a smooth plate. When it cools down, cut it into small or big pieces.
Process to use and benefits
Daily consumption of this chakki provides wonderful relief from back and knee pain. The jaggery present in it increases iron and energy in the body, while ghee provides necessary lubrication to the joints. Sesame seeds are rich in calcium which provides steely strength to the bones. Whereas gram gives strength to the muscles and fennel improves the digestive system. Eating one chakki with hot milk every night gives internal strength to the body and gradually one starts feeling relief from chronic pain.
