Open AI CEO Sam Altman has given a special gift to ChatGPT users on Christmas. ChatGPT creates a personal Santa video with Sora when you send a gift emoji. Know how this hidden magical feature works…
Just before Christmas, OpenAI has given ChatGPT users a fun and unique surprise. This time there is no new update or feature list, but a hidden Christmas Easter egg, which gets activated just by sending an emoji. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared a mysterious post on social media platform X, in which he asked people to try just one emoji in ChatGPT. After this, when users sent gift emoji, a special Christmas feature appeared.
When a user sends a gift emoji to ChatGPT, the chatbot first asks them to upload a selfie or take a photo with the camera. After this this request is sent to OpenAI’s video generation tool Sora. Sora creates a short personalized Christmas video based on the user’s information and past chat experience.
In this video, Santa Claus himself appears, who gives a humorous verdict on the user’s behavior throughout the year. If Santa is happy, he calls the user a good child and shows him the gift of his choice. At the same time, if Santa is in a mischievous mood, he declares the user ‘naughty’ and jokingly gives a useless gift. The interesting thing is that the user does not get any control over the content of the video, everything is decided by Sora himself.
Only one video on one account
Currently this feature works only once for each account. When you start a new chat again, the same old video appears. Some users say that the same feature gets activated when they send other Christmas emojis like Santa or Christmas tree.
This festive experiment shows how OpenAI is creating new interactive experiences by combining chat, image and video AI. Even though this feature is for a limited time, it makes ChatGPT even more fun on the occasion of Christmas.
