Siliguri Corridor Chicken Neck: Bangladesh is in the grip of fundamentalists these days. The situation has worsened after the murder of youth leader Sharif Usman Hadi. The era of violence against Hindu minorities has started once again. At the same time, work is also being done on a conspiracy to incite anti-India sentiments. There is violence, arson and looting everywhere in Bangladesh. People are not feeling safe in the capital Dhaka itself. The head of the interim government, Mohammad Yunus, is proving to be a complete failure in dealing with the situation. There is also talk in some circles that Yunus has announced to hold elections but perhaps he does not want it. There is only one reason for this – to remain on the chair of Bangladesh. It is the result of Yunus’s anti-India thinking that in the same country which India freed from Pakistani atrocities, venom is being spewed against New Delhi. Plans are being hatched to cut the Siliguri Corridor i.e. Chicken Neck and separate the 7 states of the North-East. All this has not happened suddenly. Between April and October, Yunus did two things which reveal his hostile attitude towards India. However, Mohammad Yunus’s neck is in the jaws of India. If India wants, it can bring destruction in Bangladesh in a moment.
India has many military bases around the border of Bangladesh. One of these is Hasimara Air Station of the Indian Air Force. This airbase, located very close to Chicken Neck, came into existence after the war with China in 1962. The distance of this Air Force station from Bangladesh border is approximately 80 to 100 kilometers. This base of Indian Air Force is very important strategically and tactically. A squadron of Rafale fighter jets is deployed here. Apart from this, S-400 air defense system and BrahMos fleet is also deployed at Hasimara airbase, in such a situation its importance increases a lot. Apart from this, other fighter jets and combat helicopters are deployed at this Air Force base. Keeping all the things in mind, if India wants then it can show its status to Bangladesh in a jiffy.

Bangladesh’s neck in India’s jaws
Bangladesh is surrounded by India on three sides. Almost 90 percent of its border is surrounded by India. Mohammad Yunus is also fully aware of this. The speed of Rafale fighter jet is approximately 2000 kilometers per hour. The speed of BrahMos cruise missile is 3700 kilometers per hour. Now if Bangladesh dares to attack India, then India can destroy entire Bangladesh including Dhaka in a moment. Mohammad Yunus and his disciples are probably unaware of the fact that before they make the nefarious attempt to cut off the 7 North-Eastern states from the rest of India by breaking the chicken neck, the entire Bangladesh will cease to exist. If the situation worsens, neither China nor Pakistan will come to help them.

Nefarious intention of Mohammad Yunus
Mohammad Yunus went on a tour of China in April this year. During his four-day visit he advocated closer economic ties with China and proposed that China’s partnership could be extended to India’s seven northeastern states. He had emphasized that these states are landlocked on all sides and could benefit from access through Bangladesh. During a roundtable conference in Beijing, Yunus discussed Bangladesh’s unique position as the sole custodian of the ocean in the region. He had told that the north-eastern states of India do not have direct access to the sea. Yunus suggested that this situation presents a huge opportunity, as the sector can serve as an extension of the Chinese economy. Meaning, China was given an open invitation to enter this area. The second incident was of October 2025. Yunus had presented a book to a Pakistani general, which showed a map in which Assam and other north-eastern states were shown as part of Bangladesh. This book was given to General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee of Pakistan.
Desire to separate 7 sisters
A few days ago, Bangladesh’s National Citizen Party (NCP) leader Hasnat Abdullah had said that Dhaka could provide shelter to forces working against India, which could also include separatist groups. Abdullah said that this could create a danger of separating the north-eastern states of India, called ‘7 Sisters’. India had expressed its concern over this statement by summoning the High Commissioner of Bangladesh. The seven sisters are Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura. Four of these states (Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram) share their border with Bangladesh, which further increases the strategic sensitivity of this region.
