In view of the cold wave and falling temperature in Begusarai district, the district administration has taken a big decision. Here, on the orders of DM, all government and private schools including pre-school, Anganwadi up to class 8th will remain closed from tomorrow, while higher classes will operate in limited time.
Begusarai: See ! Morning mist, melting air and shivering cold… for the last few days, winter in Begusarai was giving different signs. According to the information received from the teachers union, children in many schools were falling ill due to cold. Therefore, the children coming to school in the cold on Saturday were asking the teachers whether they would come to school on Monday also. The parents had only one question in their minds – will there be classes on Monday also? Meanwhile, the order from the district administration can prove helpful considering the health of children in the entire district.
Ban from pre-school to class 8th
Begusarai District Magistrate Shrikant Shastri has completely banned educational activities from pre-school to class 8th in all government and private schools of the district under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023. This ban will be effective from December 22 to December 24, 2025. As soon as the order came out, the school management, parents and students all became alert. The effect of cold is so severe that the risk of children falling ill has increased, especially in the morning and evening. The administration believes that at present, precaution is the best cure.
Special order issued for students above 8th
According to the order issued, complete relief has not been given to students above class 8th. Instructions have been given to conduct these classes with special caution from 10 am to 4:30 pm, so that the most dangerous time of cold can be avoided.
Clear instructions have also been issued regarding Anganwadi centres. All the centers will operate only from 12 noon to 2 pm and during this time only cooked food will be provided to the children. Strict action has been indicated against any negligence.
Two officers are responsible for strict compliance
According to the updates from the department, the District Education Officer and the District Program Officer of ICDS have been entrusted with the responsibility of strict compliance of the order. At the same time, special classes and examinations related to Mission Daksh, pre-board and board examinations have been kept free from this restriction, so that the academic preparation of the students is not affected. At present, in this period of cold, the administration is keeping an eye on the weather. The coming days will decide the weather of Begusarai as well as the next steps of the administration.
