Indian Army News: Even the CBI was shocked to see the mountain of currency notes at the house of Defense Ministry official Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Sharma. Rs 2.23 crore cash was recovered in the raid conducted on charges of taking bribe from a Dubai company. The situation was such that the officers got tired counting the notes. The name of his wife Colonel Kajal Bali is also included in this sensational conspiracy. At present the accused colonel is on police remand till 23rd December.
In that closed room of Delhi, bundles of notes were scattered so much that even the experienced CBI officers were left in tears. When the cupboards were opened, there were less clothes and more bundles of pink notes. The situation was such that the team that went to raid got tired of counting the notes, but the treasure was not getting exhausted. Hardly anyone had imagined that such a hideous face of corruption would be hidden behind the uniform of the person responsible for the country’s security. Cash worth Rs 2.25 crores, wires connected to Dubai and both husband and wife being Colonel rank officers. This is not just a case of bribery but a murder of trust. When the protector becomes a predator out of greed for crores of rupees, then the foundation of the entire system gets shaken. This action of CBI intensified the stir in defense corridors.
Dubai Connection and Bribery Command
This sensational scandal started on 19 December 2025. CBI had received input that Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Kumar Sharma, Deputy Planning Officer posted in the Defense Production Department of the Defense Ministry, was part of a bigger conspiracy. The surprising thing is that in this game, the name of his wife Colonel Kajal Bali is also registered in the FIR, who herself is the Commanding Officer (CO) in Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. It is alleged that this entire network of bribes was working at the behest of a Dubai company.
Note counting machines overheated
When the CBI team reached Deepak Sharma’s residence in Delhi, the scene there was like a film scene. A total of cash worth Rs 2.23 crore was recovered from the corners of the house. The machines brought to count the notes also got hot and the officials had to sweat for hours. Rs 10 lakh in cash and many suspicious documents have also been seized from Sriganganagar. This huge amount shows that this game was going on for a long time.
Was there a deal for the security of the country?
CBI has arrested Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Kumar Sharma and bribe giver Vinod Kumar. The court has sent both of them to police custody till 23 December 2025. Now the center of investigation is the Dubai based company for which this officer was working. The investigating agencies are finding out whether any sensitive information related to the country’s security has also been leaked in exchange for this bribe.
