Timings of Nawada schools changed due to severe cold, DM gave this order

Nawada: The chill of the morning and the shivering cold of the evening have been affecting the lives of the people of Nawada for the last few days. Especially it seems to be affecting the health of school going children more. The weather conditions are such that even at 11 in the morning the road ahead is not clearly visible. In view of such weather conditions, the district administration has taken a big decision. This decision is a relief for small children and students.

District Magistrate Ravi Prakash issued order
In fact, in view of the continuously falling temperature and cold wave like situation in Nawada district, there was a fear of danger to the health of children. After reviewing the situation at the administrative level, District Magistrate Ravi Prakash issued a special order under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023. According to this order, study time has been limited in all government and private schools of Nawada district. Educational activities of all classes, including pre-school and Anganwadi centres, will now not proceed before 10:00 am and after 3:00 pm. This means that children will get relief from going to school during the most affected period of cold.

However, one important thing has also been added to this order. If special classes or examinations related to pre-board or board exams are being conducted in any school, instructions have been given to conduct them with utmost caution and giving priority to the health of the children. This clearly means that the administration is flexible regarding studies, but there will be no compromise on health.

Strict instructions to school management
The district administration has given strict instructions to all school managements to reschedule their educational programs as per the order. Any kind of negligence can be taken seriously. This order has become effective from 20 December 2025 and will remain in force till 26 December 2025.

Children’s safety priority of administration
At present the administration is alert and is keeping an eye on the situation. If the effect of cold increases further, then more tough decisions can be taken in the coming days. Seeing this changed mood of winter in Nawada, a clear indication has been given that this time the safety of children is the biggest priority of the administration.
