Patna City Traffic Update: Special traffic plan has been implemented in Patna City from 24th December to 28th December. During this period, in view of the crowd of devotees and the city kirtan, vehicular movement on many routes will be completely closed. Alternative routes have been decided for heavy and commercial vehicles.
Patna: Preparations have started in Patna for the 359th Prakashotsav celebration of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Thousands of Sikh devotees from India and abroad will come to Patna Sahib for various events to be held from 25th to 27th December. Due to this, the traffic system of Patna will be completely changed. Special traffic plan has been implemented in Patna city from 24th December to 28th December. During this period, in view of the crowd of devotees and the city kirtan, vehicular movement on many routes will be completely closed. Alternative routes have been decided for heavy and commercial vehicles.
Ban on commercial vehicles in Patna city
Entry of any type of commercial vehicles will be prohibited in Patna City area from midnight of 24th December to midnight of 28th December. Trucks and tractors coming from Didarganj will not be able to move towards west in Ashok Rajpath. All such vehicles will operate via the new bypass. However, vehicles carrying essential commodities have been allowed to enter the market committee from 2 am to 4 am.
Auto operations closed on Ashok Rajpath
From 4 am on December 25 to 6 am on December 27, the operation of autos and small commercial vehicles will be completely closed on Ashok Rajpath from Gaighat to Purba Darwaza. These vehicles will be allowed to go from Gaighat to Patna Sahib via Danka Imli, Nawab Bahadur Road, Sudarshan Path, Tulsi Mandi and Agamkuan ROB. The return of vehicles will also take place through this route.
Complete ban from West Door to East Door
From midnight of 25th December to 6am on 28th December, movement of all types of vehicles will be completely closed from West Darwaza to Purba Darwaza. Vehicles coming from the east will be diverted towards Morcha Road near Purba Darwaza. However, vehicular traffic will continue normally between Gaighat and West Darwaza.
Special traffic plan on the day of Nagar Kirtan
On the occasion of Nagar Kirtan on 26th December, there will be complete closure of all types of vehicles on Ashok Rajpath from Gaighat to Didarganj from 4 am to midnight. During this time, vehicles going to Patna City will go towards Patna Sahib station via Chowk Shikarpur ROB via Nawab Bahadur Road and Sudarshan Path.

In case of any emergency, separate routes have been decided for patients and emergency services. To go to PMCH, right JP Ganga Path can be used from Kanganghat. To reach NMCH, left Danka Imli route has been fixed from Gaighat.
Cars will be parked here
Market Committee, Didarganj, Mangal Talab Chowk police station and Kanganghat Chowk police station areas have been identified for parking of vehicles during Prakashotsav.
