Public Opinion Dehradun Dog Licensing Bylaws-2025/Dehradun. In view of the increasing attacks by stray and pet dogs in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand and the public inconvenience caused by them, the Municipal Corporation has now taken a tough stance. With the aim of creating a safe environment in the streets and roads of the city, ‘Dehradun Dog Licensing Bylaws-2025’ has been approved. Now dog keeping will not be just a hobby but a big legal responsibility. According to the new rules, now it is not only mandatory to register pet dogs in Dehradun, but the registration fee for it has been increased to ₹ 2000. All pet dogs above 3 months of age will have to be registered. This license will be valid only for one year from the date of registration or renewal. To get the license, it will be mandatory to present the rabies vaccination certificate issued by the veterinarian.
the owner is not well
It is often seen that barking of pet dogs at night disturbs the peace of the neighbors. This problem has been specifically addressed in the new bylaws. If a neighbor complains about the dog barking, the corporation will first issue a notice to the owner and if the situation does not improve even after the notice, a heavy challan will be issued to the dog owner. If someone’s pet dog bites someone, an FIR can be filed against the owner of the dog. In serious cases, the Municipal Corporation can confiscate that dog. It may also be necessary to wear a ‘muzzle’ (muzzle) when taking dogs of dangerous breeds into public places. Dehradun Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal said that the new rules of the Municipal Corporation will not only improve the management of pets but will also strengthen public safety.
People said- absolutely right
Dehradun resident Manoj Kumar said that the law is a commendable initiative by Dehradun Municipal Corporation to reduce the terror of pet and stray dogs. Due to the fear of pack of dogs, small children and elderly people are afraid to go out of the house in the morning and evening. Not only is there a danger from abandoned dogs, there have also been many cases where people have kept dogs of dangerous breeds and they let them loose, which attack passers-by. According to Manoj, once when he was going somewhere in the morning, a dog bit his leg. To this day he is afraid of dogs. Some people say that the rules of Dehradun Municipal Corporation are only on paper. Dheeraj Pal said that the Municipal Corporation makes rules only on paper, but its ground reality is different. A person in his neighborhood has kept four-five dogs and keeps them outside. They keep crying, barking and disturbing the children and elders of the house, even becoming a headache for the children studying.
how to stop
Dheeraj says that he had complained against the swan owner on November 17 but nothing has been done till now. The person keeping dogs should make arrangements for them inside the house so that the neighbors do not face much trouble. Ashok Kumar says that this is a strange order of the Municipal Corporation. How can Malik stop the dogs from barking? Dogs are not intelligent enough to understand that the owner will be fined, so we should not bark. The barking of the dog alerts Malik. There is a lot of theft in Dehradun and people keep dogs only for security.
