Mathura: Jait police of Mathura city of Uttar Pradesh has safely recovered the kidnapped student. The kidnappers committed the crime after watching a web series. Along with recovering the victim, the police arrested two youths and a woman after the encounter. One youth is from Agra district, the other youth is from Bihar. The woman is a resident of Aligarh district. Together, these three had kidnapped the student in the tempo itself and demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh.
Two youths and a woman arrested in kidnapping case
According to the information received, a girl student has been recovered safely in the joint action of Jait police station, SOG Mathura and surveillance team. Two criminals, including a woman, who had kidnapped a student for ransom, were arrested after an encounter. Both the miscreants were injured in the encounter. This action was completed within 24 hours. This encounter between the police and the kidnappers took place in the forest near village Dhorera. The injured miscreants were immediately sent to the hospital.
Kidnapping plan made after watching web series
Police said that the kidnappers had kidnapped the student for ransom. Rs 2.5 lakh as ransom, a tempo used in the incident, two country-made pistols (.315 bore), four live cartridges and five spent cartridges have been recovered from the accused. According to the police, the miscreants had planned to kidnap a school/college student after watching a web series to earn financial gain. He had hired a tempo for this work.
The student was kidnapped when she was returning home from college.
On December 18, 2025, miscreants had kidnapped a student resident of Jait police station area while returning home from college. He had demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh from the student’s father. The arrested accused have been identified as Saurav Singh alias Mandali, son of Omveer Singh (resident of Nagla Nangu, Police Station Jagner, Agra, resident of Hall, Paras Pride Flat No. 111, Rukmini Vihar, Vrindavan, Mathura, age about 28 years) and Manjeet son of Shivji Rai (resident of Benipur, Police Station Pursoni, Sitamarhi, Bihar, resident of Hall, Radhapuram Square, Police Station Highway, Mathura). A female accused has also been arrested along with them. A case has been registered in this regard in Jait police station under IPC 677/25 section 140 (2) BNS. Information about the criminal history of the accused is being collected.
