Guwahati new airport: Guwahati’s new Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport has now become very luxurious. PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate this new terminal on December 20. This new terminal is spread over 1.4 lakh square meters and has the capacity to handle 1.3 crore passengers annually. It has been made India’s first nature-themed airport using approximately 140 metric tons of bamboo. Major upgrades have also been made to the runway, taxiway and airfield systems. The culture and nature of Assam have been beautifully shown in the design of the terminal. The grand columns and ceilings made of bamboo, green areas and plantations give a jungle-like feel to the travelers. This new terminal will not only increase the connectivity of Assam, but will also give a new impetus to tourism and economic activities.
