Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav held a press conference in Lucknow on Saturday on Codeine cough syrup. In this press conference, Akhilesh Yadav made serious allegations against the Yogi government.
Regarding the illegal trade of codeine cough syrup, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the government is deliberately hiding the truth and the real mafias are being saved. Akhilesh also put the government in the dock on the allegations being made on the basis of photographs. He said, ‘If we accept the pictures only and the person standing with me is the mafia. So my picture is also with the Chief Minister. It is also with the Deputy CM…I can understand the compulsion.
More than 118 FIRs in 36 districts, yet the government is silent
Akhilesh Yadav said that more than 118 FIRs have been registered in cases related to codeine cough syrup in 36 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Despite this, the government is hiding the real truth of this black business from the public. He raised the question that what was the government doing when illegal business was going on on such a large scale?
Allegations based on photographs are wrong: Akhilesh
The SP chief said that an attempt is being made to link him with the mafia by showing some photographs. If someone will be called mafia on the basis of photographs, then there are photographs of many people including the Chief Minister and Deputy CM. He asked, ‘If the person standing with me is a mafia, then who is the person standing with the Chief Minister?’
Illegal business extends to Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency
Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the illegal trade of codeine cough syrup extends to the Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency and its value is in thousands of crores of rupees. He said that the Chief Minister and the people standing with him are lying, which cannot even be imagined.
Direct demand from government on bulldozer action
The SP President said, ‘If the government is really against the mafia, then bulldozers should be used on the houses of those whose pictures are shown with me.’ He said that whether ‘Kaalin Bhaiya’ or ‘Codeen Bhaiya’, equal action should be taken against every person involved in this illegal business.
Government accused of suppressing opposition leaders
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the government is protecting Akhilesh Dubey in Kanpur. To prevent IPS Amitabh Thakur from expressing his views, the entire police station is played.
