This historic market was built between 1933 and 1935 during the reign of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It was named after his son Prince Moazzam Jah. This beautiful building made of granite stones is an excellent example of Ottoman architecture which is a mixture of Qutub Shahi, Mughal and Asaf Jahi styles. Its high arches and grand central dome still enhance the glory of the city.

The real identity of Moazzam Jahi Market is the traditional ice cream available here. There are old and famous shops like Bilal and Gafoor which have been serving handmade fresh fruit ice cream for decades. No artificial flavors are used in the ice cream here. This ice cream, prepared from seasonal fruits like custard apple, mango, sapota and fig, is so famous that in the evening, long queues of people form here. To taste it, people not only from Hyderabad but also from other cities especially come here.

This market is located at the intersection of Jam Bagh Begum Market and Station Road. It is very easy to reach here, Begum Bazaar metro station is the nearest station here. You can easily reach here by bus or auto. This market opens at 8:00 in the morning and remains alive till 10:30 in the night.
