Delhi Airport News: A major controversy broke out on Friday at Terminal-1 of Delhi Airport, where an off-duty Air India Express pilot assaulted a passenger going on holiday with his family. After this incident, the airline has suspended the pilot with immediate effect. Victim passenger Aniket Devan has shared his ordeal on social media platform X. In his post, he also shared a picture of blood on his face and the photo of the attacking pilot. Devan told that he was traveling with his wife, four-month-old infant and seven-year-old daughter.
He told that since the baby was in a stroller, the airport staff had allowed him to use the staffed security check lane. According to Devan, some staff members were cutting in front of his line. When he protested, off-duty Captain Virendra Sejwal asked him if he was illiterate. You are not able to see the staff entry board written on the board.
Captain Sejwal punched Dewan
After this an altercation started and then a fight broke out between the two. Devan alleges that Captain Sejwal punched him, due to which blood started flowing from his face. The saddest aspect is that this incident happened in front of his seven year old daughter, due to which the girl is still traumatized and scared. Devan wrote in the post that my daughter is still scared. Air India Express has issued an official statement on the incident. The airline said that it is aware of the actions of one of its employees at Delhi airport. This employee was traveling as a passenger on a flight of another airline and had an altercation with another passenger.
Passenger Aniket Devan has narrated his ordeal by posting a video.
The statement said that we strongly condemn such behaviour. The concerned employee has been removed from official duty with immediate effect and has been placed under suspension until the investigation is completed. Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken based on the investigation report.
According to sources, the incident took place near the security area of Terminal-1. The attacking pilot later boarded an Indigo flight to Bengaluru. Devan has made another serious allegation in his post. He says that after the incident, he was pressurized to write a letter stating that he would not pursue the matter further. According to him, either write this letter or miss the flight and waste a holiday booking worth Rs 1.2 lakh. He asked Delhi Police whether they can’t file a complaint after coming back? Will CCTV footage disappear in two days?
