Kanpur: A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a father first crushed his two sons with a brick and then committed suicide by hanging himself. One son died on the spot. While the condition of the second son is critical, he is undergoing treatment in the hospital. It is being told that the wife of the murderer had died a few days ago, due to which he had gone into depression. After receiving information about the murder, the police reached the spot and took both the bodies into their custody. The incident took place in Araul police station area of ​​the district.

Police said that the deceased have been identified as Ajay Katiyar (45) and his seven-year-old son Shubh, while the injured child Rudra (12) is being treated. Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Dinesh Tripathi said that Ajay lived with his two sons. He told that Ajay first attacked both the children with a brick and left them both thinking they were dead. He told that after this he consumed poison and hanged himself inside the house.

‘There should be as many children as there are…’
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that an alleged suicide note recovered from the spot revealed severe emotional distress. Deputy Commissioner of Police said that in the note written to his father, Ajay wrote that there should be only as many children as one can nurture properly. Deputy Commissioner of Police said that Ajay wrote in the suicide note, “I cannot leave him at the mercy of others, so I am taking him with me.” According to the police, this incident came to light on Friday morning when Ajay did not open his jewelery shop. According to the police, his father Ram Shankar Katiyar went to the house and repeatedly called out but got no response.

Both children were soaked in blood
Police said that Ram Shankar Katiyar informed the neighbors and Ajay’s elder brother Chandraprakash. Police said that later when the door was forcefully opened, both the children were found lying on the floor soaked in blood, while Ajay was lying unconscious nearby. Police said that all three were taken to the Community Health Center of Bilhaur, where doctors declared Ajay and the small child dead. Police said that Rudra had suffered serious head injuries and was referred to Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
