With this message, for the last one month, the farmers of the district are being taught the tricks for commercial farming from the Agricultural Research and Training Center located at Demotand in Hazaribagh. A special school has been organized here for the farmers, where the tricks of less hard work, less cost and more profits are being taught. Farmers who want to take training in extension can contact the Agricultural Research and Training Center and get training for this. Continuous training is being organized here.
Possible earning of four to five lakh rupees annually
In this Kisan Pathshala, senior scientist Pankaj Kumar Sinha, who arrived from the Indian Agricultural Research Center, Goria Karma, is telling the farmers the secret of farming, which can open the way for earning from a 20 year long plan even in just 2 months. Scientists are giving information about integrated farming techniques to the farmers and explaining that if farming is planned properly then it is possible to earn four to five lakh rupees annually.
Profitable crops can be grown easily
Pankaj Kumar Sinha, senior scientist, Indian Agricultural Research Center, Goriya Karma, said that the biggest problem in Jharkhand is that there is abundance of barren land, which remains idle for years. If this barren land is used properly then this land can change the fate of the farmers. Farmers can become financially strong by farming like Mahua, bamboo, mango gardening, dragon fruit and mushroom.
Initial cost is higher
He told that even though Mahua farming is a long term plan, after 20 years it is possible to earn Rs 4 to 5 lakh every year from one acre of land. On the other hand, by cultivating bamboo, after five years, one can earn an income of Rs 4 to 5 lakh every year. Up to three lakh rupees can be earned annually from fruit gardening, although the initial cost is slightly higher.
There will be immediate profit from mushroom
Dragon fruit and mushroom cultivation is a better option for farmers who want to earn more profits in less time. According to scientists, good income starts from dragon fruit cultivation in one to one and a half years, whereas mushroom cultivation can become a source of income in just two months.
Technical information is very important
Apart from Hazaribagh, a large number of farmers from Ramgarh and Koderma districts are also reaching this Kisan Pathshala. Farmers say that such technical information is very important in today’s time. If scientific methods are adopted beyond traditional farming, then farming can become a profitable business and not a loss-making one.
The farmers present in the school said that they have understood that instead of depending on a single crop, mixed and integrated farming should be adopted. This also reduces risk and opens up many avenues of income.
In the changing times, the perspective of farming is also changing. Now farmers do not want to be limited to plow and oxen, but are looking at farming as an industry. This Kisan Pathshala of Demotand is becoming an example of this change, where farmers are returning to their villages after learning new technologies with the dream of becoming millionaires.
