Let us know…
Traveling by taking railway ticket on mobile has its own unique pleasure. TTEs also get satisfied just by seeing the ticket on mobile. Don’t interrupt. Meanwhile, it is being claimed in many media reports that merely showing the ticket on mobile will not suffice. Now passengers will also have to keep the printed copy of the ticket with them. Explaining the reason behind this, it is being said that Railways has taken this step to prevent misuse of digital tickets. Now the Railways itself has officially denied such report.
Railways says that passengers will not have to keep the printed copy of the unreserved ticket taken from UTS, ATVM or counter. Simply showing the ticket on the mobile screen will also work.
It is true that recently a unique case of fake railway tickets has come to light on the Jaipur route. Actually, some students were traveling in the train. The names of the passengers were different in all the tickets. Railway checking staff also got cheated. These tickets looked completely genuine. The QR code, journey details and fare were all correct but when TC investigated the ticket in depth, it was found that the students had edited the same unreserved ticket with the help of AI tool. Then the names of seven passengers were shown in it. That means seven people were traveling on one ticket. After the matter came to light, the officials were shocked.

The increasing misuse of AI has worried the Railways. With advanced technology, it has become easy to create fake tickets, modify them and create new mobile tickets. Even designing QR codes has become easy. In such a situation, it has become difficult for TTE to identify whether the ticket is real or fake. However, Railways has not made it mandatory to carry the printed copy of the unreserved ticket.
Railways says that passengers will not have to carry printed copies of unreserved tickets. UTS, ATVM (Automatic Ticket Vending Machine) – Tickets taken from the ticket counter will be valid as before. These tickets will be accepted on mobile.
It is not mandatory to print an unreserved ticket before traveling. Railways says that in many media reports, it has been published that it is mandatory to carry a physical copy of the unreserved ticket, but there is no truth in it.
At present, unreserved tickets can be made on UTS only for a maximum of 4 passengers. This also includes child ticket. Railway administration has instructed the checking staff to check unreserved tickets of at least 10 passengers out of 100. Also, these tickets will be checked with the help of QR code scanner so that fake tickets can be detected.
