As the winter season approaches, the daily use of sweaters, jackets and blankets increases. But after some time the problem of lint often occurs. Due to this, the shine of the clothes reduces and the new look also gets spoiled.
The biggest reason for lint appearing on clothes is not washing them properly or not storing them properly. If woolen clothes are scrubbed too hard or put in a high spin machine, their fibers become weak. Additionally, washing woolen clothes with synthetic clothes also produces lint. Sometimes using cheap detergent can also spoil the quality of clothes. Therefore, if we know in advance what is the reason then this kind of problem can be prevented.
A simple razor is very effective in removing lint from a sweater or jacket. Spread the cloth on a flat surface and move the razor slowly. Do not apply too much pressure, otherwise the fabric may get cut. This method is very beneficial for thick woolen clothes. The special thing is that within a few minutes your clothes will start looking clean and good.
If the lint is very small and light, sticky tape or a lint roller is the best method. Press the cloth slowly and remove the tape repeatedly. There is no damage to the clothes in this method. This method works very well especially on jackets and coats. This comes in handy quickly before going to office or going out.
Wool and winter clothes should always be washed inside out. Use cold water and mild detergent. Hand washing is considered the safest method. If using a washing machine, choose soft setting. After washing, drain the water slowly instead of wringing the clothes. Washing properly reduces lint and increases the lifespan of clothes.
It is not advisable to dry winter clothes on hangers. This can cause the clothes to stretch and their fibers to become weak. It is better to dry them by spreading them on a flat surface. While storing clothes, fold them and place tissue paper or cotton cloth between them. This reduces friction and also creates less lint.
Due to repeated use of the blanket, lint quickly accumulates on it. Avoid washing them frequently and clean them only when necessary. Clean gently with a soft brush.
