32 year old Becky from Bristol has been single for the last 15 years. He tried many times to find a partner, but every time his experience was bad. In such a situation, now they are afraid of dating. Anyone’s soul should tremble after listening to their story.
In India, after a certain age, family members become anxious to get their boys and girls married. They also repeatedly talk to their relatives to find the right partner for their children. But despite this many people remain bachelor. It becomes more difficult to find a partner in foreign countries. There people have to find their own partners through dating. But sometimes this experience becomes so bad that people prefer to remain single. One such soul-shattering story is that of 32 year old Becky, a resident of Brisbane, Britain. Becky, a project manager by profession, has been living a lonely life for the last 15 years. Recently, her pain came out in a video, in which she told that the dating experience was so bad that now she starts trembling at the very name of it.
Many people will be surprised to hear this answer of Becky, but for her this is a bitter truth, due to which she now feels scared. Becky’s story became more complicated when two and a half years ago she was diagnosed with a serious disease called ‘Multiple Sclerosis (MS).’ This disease not only affected his health but also shocked his self-confidence and love life. He has recently shared his journey on social media, which has attracted the attention of millions of people. In the viral video, Becky has spoken very honestly about those things which she felt embarrassed to accept for a long time. He told that living without a partner for 15 years sometimes makes him feel as if something is wrong with him.
She said, “No boy has ever told me that he loves me. I am not even sure if I ever fell in love, whether I would even recognize him or not.” He further said that going on a date these days is “like going on an interview for a job you never applied for.” It is a big challenge for them to meet someone new and tell them about their disease (MS). They fear that people will judge them by their illness rather than their personality. Thousands of people have reacted to Becky’s video. Some commented that they too have been alone for the same number of years and wonder every day whether the next 40 years will be like this? Some people gave courage to Becky and said that there is someone made for everyone and there is no need to rush.
Despite all these challenges, Becky is happy to see the relationship between her brother and his girlfriend and wants the same relationship for herself. She says that earlier she used to look at relationships from a very romantic perspective, but now she has started understanding the reality. She admitted that she likes to sleep alone, but waking up alone every day hurts her a lot. Becky says that the ideas of marriage, home and children that society has imposed on adults make it very difficult for them. She says, “There is nothing wrong with you, and you are not behind anyone. Being single for a long time does not make you less worthy of love. Don’t force yourself into a relationship to meet some imaginary timeline. It is more important to create a life for yourself that makes you happy.” This story of Becky teaches us that fighting loneliness and accepting our weaknesses is the real name of courage.
