Siwan: The famous Hanuman temple located in Shukla Toli locality of Siwan city of Bihar is not only a center of religious faith, but also holds a special place among the devotees due to its antiquity, miraculous stories and historical importance. This temple has remained the center of people’s faith for years, where hundreds of devotees come every day for darshan and worship. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, a huge crowd of devotees gather here and the entire temple complex echoes with the chants of “Jai Bajrang Bali”.
This temple was formally inaugurated on 3 February 2006 by the then Prime Minister of Mauritius, Naveen Chandraram Ghulam. The participation of a head of state from a foreign country in the inauguration of this temple reflects its international identity and prestige. Although it was inaugurated in the year 2006, the history of the temple is much older and glorious than this. According to the information, this temple was established in the year 1901, which means this temple is more than a century old.
Swami Ganesh Dutt Shukla, the founder of Hanuman Temple, has been an internationally famous manas preacher. It is said that Lord Hanuman had personally appeared to Swamiji. After this divine experience, he got inspiration to propagate Sanatan Dharma. He went abroad and propagated Indian culture and Sanatan tradition there. After returning from abroad, he laid the foundation of this Hanuman temple in Siwan.
Shambhu Dutt Shukla, brother of Swami Ganesh Dutt Shukla, tells that when the foundation of the temple was being laid, Hanuman ji used to regularly visit the temple premises in the form of a monkey. That monkey remained around the temple during the entire construction period. The special thing was that he never harmed anyone. About 15 days after the inauguration of the temple, he left his body in the same temple premises. Local people associate it with the Leela and physical presence of Hanuman ji.
Worship takes place daily in the temple, but special religious events are held here on Tuesdays and Saturdays. On both these days, Saswar Sunderkand Paath is organized regularly, in which a large number of devotees participate. Devotees say that reciting Sunderkand gives them a feeling of mental peace and positive energy.
Another specialty of the temple is that a special type of laddu is prepared for the devotees coming here on the lines of the famous Hanuman temple of Patna. Devotees offer the same laddus to Lord Hanuman. This Prasad has special recognition among the devotees. According to the temple management, after a month this temple will complete 51 years, about which there is special enthusiasm among the devotees.
Temple priest Nitish Dubey says that this temple is very ancient and miraculous. With time, the temple was renovated and the consecration ceremony was held again in the year 2006, in which Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandraram Ghulam also participated. According to him, no devotee who comes here returns disappointed. Prayer done with a true heart definitely gives results.
Devotees Abhishek Kumar and Janardan Dubey, who came to worship in the temple, say that they come here regularly every Tuesday and Saturday. They experience amazing peace after listening to Sunderkand recitation. He says that this temple is not just a center of faith but also a place that gives peace to the mind, where the problems of life go away for some time.
Female devotee Anamika says that every Tuesday and Saturday she starts her day by worshiping in this Hanuman temple. Only after this they start doing other household work. He believes that he has a special emotional attachment to this temple. By coming here they not only get mental peace but also get their wishes fulfilled.
Overall, this ancient Hanuman temple of Siwan is a wonderful confluence of faith, belief and miracles. For years, this temple has been providing peace, strength and strength to the devotees and it will remain a major center of faith in the times to come.
