Sitamarhi: A big relief news has emerged for the government teachers of Bihar before the New Year. Teachers, who have been troubled by salary discrepancies and delays for a long time, are now going to get the direct benefit of the updating of the HRMS (Human Resource Management System) portal. According to the Education Department, 58 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) has been updated in HRMS and on this basis salary is being processed on the new basic salary. Its effect is likely to be visible in the salary for the month of December, in which teachers may get an additional amount of around Rs 2000 to Rs 2500. The department claims that the payment process through HRMS will become more transparent and timely.
About 6 lakh government teachers of the state will get the benefit of this salary increase. This includes special teachers, teachers reinstated under TRE-1, TRE-2 and TRE-3, head teachers and head teachers. According to the data, a total of 2,68,548 teachers have been appointed so far in the three phases of teacher appointment examination conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). The number of specialized teachers who have passed the competency examination has reached 2,61,854. Apart from this, the appointment of 5,728 head teachers and posting of 35,333 head teachers in primary schools has been completed by July 2025, which has strengthened the education system.

He also clarified that there should not be any error in the calculation of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Housing Allowance (HRA). Under the new SOP, the target has now been set to transfer salaries to the accounts of teachers on the 1st of every month.
The Education Department believes that after the complete updating of HRMS, most of the complaints related to salary payment will end in the coming months. Getting timely and correct salaries will increase the morale of teachers, which will also have a positive impact on the quality of education. Lakhan Lal Nishad, regional organization in-charge of Parivartika Primary Teachers Association, said that the organization was continuously working on this issue and the updating of HRMS will provide real relief to the teachers. Overall, the new year of teachers of Bihar is going to start with financial peace and confidence.
