Islam teaches simplicity and balance. Islam does not say anywhere that there should be unnecessary expenditure in marriages through noise, DJ or fireworks. Nikah is a pure and simple religious process, which should be completed with simplicity. Keeping this in mind, the people of Wasseypur have taken a very good initiative.
Dhanbad. Imams have taken a concrete and commendable initiative to stop the increasing extravagance, noise and social pressure during marriages in Wasseypur area of Dhanbad city. Imams of Wasseypur and surrounding areas including Shamsher Nagar have unanimously decided that DJ, musical instruments and fireworks will no longer be allowed in marriages conducted as per Islamic tradition. Along with this, it has also been decided that the marriage process will be completed before 11 pm. Strict measures like social boycott will be taken against families violating this rule.
Will get relief from financial problems
This decision is being considered as a big step towards positive change in the society. Imam of Wasseypur Jabbar Masjid, Maulana Naushad Alam, while clarifying the reasons behind this initiative, said that in today’s time, marriage has become a matter of social prestige. People are forced to spend more than necessary for the sake of show off. Many times, families even take loans to spend on expenses like DJ, lighting and fireworks, due to which they later have to face financial problems.
Marriage becomes a burden in the race of show off
Maulana Naushad Alam said that Islam teaches simplicity and balance. Islam does not say anywhere that there should be unnecessary expenditure in marriages through noise, DJ or fireworks. Nikah is a pure and simple religious process, which should be completed with simplicity. But in the present times, the competition for appearances has made marriage a burden, especially for poor and middle class families.
prevention of accidents
He also told that during the procession, due to DJ, loud songs and dance, many times disputes and unpleasant situations arise. The elderly, women and sick people of the locality also face problems due to this. There have been incidents like fire, burning and injuries to children due to fireworks. Such accidents can turn a happy occasion into sadness.
Simplicity will be encouraged
Imams believe that the implementation of this new rule will promote simplicity in the society and will reduce the pressure of unnecessary expenditure on people. Besides, completion of Nikah on time will also provide relief from late night activities, noise and law and order related problems. The decision to complete the Nikah by 11 pm is being considered a relief for the local administration and the common people.
Society will get the right direction
Under this decision, it has also been made clear that if any family violates these rules and organizes DJ or fireworks in the Nikah, then that family will be socially boycotted. In this, people of the community will not participate in their social programs. Imams say that this step has been taken not for punishment, but to give the right direction to the society.
Many social workers and local people of Wasseypur have welcomed this initiative. He says that if such a system is strictly implemented, it will not only reduce the economic burden but will also strengthen peace, discipline and brotherhood in the society. People hope that this initiative of Wasseypur will become an example for other areas also and marriages will once again become a symbol of simplicity and values.
