The ingredients required for this delicious and nutritious recipe are 500 grams of amla, 250-300 grams of jaggery, 1 teaspoon of desi ghee, fennel, asafoetida, black salt, turmeric, black pepper, dry ginger powder, cardamom powder, red chilli and some melon seeds. First of all, wash the gooseberries thoroughly and boil them. When it cools down, take out the seeds and grate them. Now put desi ghee in a pan, add asafoetida and fennel and fry lightly so that the aroma starts coming out. After this, put the grated Amla in the pan and cook it while stirring on low flame.
Now add jaggery to it and let it melt slowly. As soon as the jaggery starts melting, a sweet aroma will start coming. At this time add turmeric, dry ginger, black pepper, red chilli, cardamom powder and black salt and mix well. When the mixture becomes a little thick, add melon seeds to it and cook for 2-3 minutes more. Turn off the gas and let it cool. You can apply it on bread or eat it with roti.
