Police Inspector Love Trap: Such cases often come to the notice of the police, which are handled in a shocking manner. Incidents of people following their plans by getting trapped in the web of love have become common. The business of blackmailing through voice calls and video calls is in full swing these days. Awareness campaigns are continuously run by the government administration, so that common people can be saved from such fraudsters. But what should be done when the policeman himself gets embroiled in such a conspiracy? A similar case has come to light in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, in which a woman started attacking a police inspector.
In fact, a shocking case has come to light in Bengaluru, where the alleged love affair that started with phone calls and emotional messages later turned out to be a well-planned ‘love trap’. This entire matter came to light when Inspector Satish of Ramamurthy Nagar police station refused to succumb to any kind of pressure. The police have arrested the accused woman. According to the police, this sequence started on October 30, when Inspector Satish took charge of Ramamurthy Nagar police station. The same day he got a phone call. The woman calling told her name as Sanjana and said that she lives in the same area. Initially the conversation was normal, but within a few minutes she suddenly confessed her love to the inspector.
Block number 11, still the woman did not agree
Inspector Satish ignored it considering it a joke or prank. But after this the series of calls did not seem to stop. Every time a new number was used. When Satish blocked 11 numbers one by one, then he understood that this was not just attraction but an act being done with a special intention. The woman started demanding attention, affection and relationship from him continuously. With every refusal his attitude became more aggressive. When things did not work out this way, the woman started applying pressure. She described herself as a worker of a political party and claimed that she had direct contacts with top leaders and ministers. He also sent his photographs with many leaders and ministers to the inspector. She also threatened that if he did not listen to her, she could ruin his career.
…threaten again
Some such calls also came in which they claimed to be associated with the Home Minister and Deputy Chief Minister’s office. The callers questioned why the inspector was ignoring the woman’s complaint. To this, Satish clearly replied that the woman has never come to the police station with a formal complaint and he will take any action only as per the legal process. After this the woman adopted another method. In the absence of the inspector, she reached the police station, introduced herself as his relative and left a bouquet and a box of sweets. When the inspector came to know about this, he immediately warned the woman not to misuse his name.
Reached police station, handed over love letter, then complained
According to the report of ‘Times of India’, on November 7, the woman again reached the police station and handed over an envelope to the inspector. It contained many handwritten love letters, heart shapes, loving messages and some antidepressant pills. The message was clear – if the inspector did not accept her love, she would take extreme steps and hold him responsible for it. When the harassment continued, Inspector Satish lodged a formal complaint on 8 November. During the investigation, the police came to know that Sanjana had used similar tactics earlier also. He also targeted a police constable in Whitefield and two other people from Ramamurthy Nagar and KR Pura area. It is alleged that he also extorted money from her by luring her into a love trap.
Demand for secret relationship
According to the report, on December 12, the woman again came to the police station, where she abused the inspector, demanded a secret relationship and threatened to defame him. The inspector said in his complaint that the woman’s actions were not only mental harassment and threatening, but also an attempt to harm her personal dignity and the image of the police department. In this case, the police have registered a case under sections 132 (assault or use of force to prevent a government servant from performing duty), 221 (obstructing government work) and 351 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and arrested the accused woman. The police is now investigating this entire network and its previous cases in depth.
