For the Paush Somvati Amavasya fair, Indian Railways has run two special trains between Jhansi-Chitrakootdham Karvi. From 18th i.e. Thursday to 20th December 2025, two Mela special trains will be run between Jhansi and Chitrakootdham Karvi. This will provide a lot of relief to the travelers coming to the fair. Indian Railways has released the schedule of these special trains.
Jhansi. A large number of devotees reach Chitrakootdham for the fair organized on the occasion of Paush Somvati Amavasya. For their convenience, Indian Railways has arranged special trains. From 18th i.e. Thursday to 20th December 2025, two Mela special trains will be run between Jhansi and Chitrakootdham Karvi. This will provide a lot of relief to the travelers coming to the fair. Indian Railways has released the schedule of these special trains.
The first special train Veerangana Laxmibai will run from Jhansi to Chitrakootdham Karvi and back to Jhansi. This train will leave from Jhansi at 10:10 am. On the way, it will stop at stations like Orchha, Baruasagar, Niwari, Mauranipur, Harpalpur, Mahoba, Banda, Atarra, Bharatkup and Shivrampur. Karvi will reach Chitrakootdham at 17:45 pm. In return, it will leave Chitrakootdham at 19:25 pm and reach Jhansi at 01:00 pm.
The second special train will also run from Jhansi to Chitrakootdham Karvi and back. It will leave Jhansi at 20:10 pm and reach Chitrakootdham at 03:05 am. In return, it will leave Chitrakootdham at 04:40 am and reach Jhansi at 11:10 am. Both trains will stop at all major stations, so that passengers can easily board and deboard the route.
Apart from this, train number 64613/14 (Jhansi-Banda MEMU) will be extended till Chitrakootdham Karvi for these three days. This train, run by Prayagraj Division, has ordinary coaches. If needed, it can be run as a special train between Kanpur and Chitrakootdham Karvi. Chitrakootdham is the penance place of Lord Ram and bathing and donating here on Somvati Amavasya has special significance.
Number of coaches increased in MEMU train
The number of coaches is being increased in Kanpur Central-Khajuraho MEMU train. Whereas Jhansi-Lucknow train is being converted from old ICF rake to new MEMU rake. Coaches are being increased in train number 64646 going from Kanpur Central to Khajuraho. Currently it has 8 coaches, but from December 20, 2025 it will be made 12 coaches. With this, more passengers will be able to travel in the train and crowding will be reduced.
Return train number 64645 will run from Khajuraho to Kanpur Central with 12 coaches from 21 December 2025. Both trains run daily. Train numbers 51813 and 51814 on Jhansi-Lucknow route will be converted into MEMU rakes. The new numbers will be 64701 and 64702. MEMU rakes have more seats and faster speed.
