Amit Kumar Jha/Supaul: An ordinary boy who used to bowl barefoot in the village fields…has today made his mark on the world’s biggest cricket platform like IPL. Hailing from Thuthi village of Chhatapur block of Supaul district, Mohammad Izhar has created history on the basis of struggle, hard work and passion. Despite poverty, lack of resources and harshness of the circumstances, Izhar never gave up. Today when he has worn the jersey of Mumbai Indians, the entire Supaul district is filled with pride.
Mohammad Izhar, elder son of teacher Mohammad Salauddin, resident of Thuthi village under Chhatapur block of Supaul district, has been selected in IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians have bought him for Rs 30 lakh. As soon as this news came out, a wave of happiness ran across the district. From village to city, people are calling this achievement historic for Supaul.
Izhar’s childhood friend and cousin Mohammad Sarfaraz says that initially the family was worried that cricket might harm his future. But when the parents saw Ijhaar’s deep passion and talent for cricket, instead of opposing them, they started giving full support. This support became the biggest force for expression.
Left arm fast bowler Mohammad Izhar worked hard and made his mark till Bihar state level. In the year 2019-20, he was selected at the state level, after which he did not look back. 21-year-old Izhar has also represented Bihar at Under-19 and Under-23 level. Recently he performed brilliantly in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After playing his debut match against Chhattisgarh, he caught everyone’s attention by taking 4 wickets against Madhya Pradesh. From here his path to reach IPL became stronger. Earlier in IPL 2025, Izhar was associated with Chennai Super Kings as a net bowler. From where he got the experience of the big stage. The same experience and performance took him to Mumbai Indians today.
Initial education started from here
Izhaar’s primary education was from Abdul Majeed Tola, Hanumannagar Primary School in Narpatganj block of Araria district. After this, he received secondary education from the cluster level school of Anchara village. Presently he is pursuing graduation from a college located in Veerpur. His father Mohammad Salauddin is the headmaster of the same primary school. He has full confidence that his son will reach the Indian cricket team one day.
Roshan will bring fame to the country, not Supaul
Today Mohammad Izhar has become the hope not only of his family but of the entire Supaul district. People believe that this young fast bowler will perform even better in the coming times. One day he will bring glory to the country by wearing the Indian jersey. Izhar’s elder brother Mohammad Sarfaraz, said that Izhar has seen a lot of struggle. Today his hard work has paid off. We have full confidence that he will bring glory to Supaul and the country in future too.
