A special screening camp is being organized for disabled people and senior citizens above 18 years of age on 17.12.2025 from 10 am on 17.12.2025 at the BRC premises located near Jharia zonal office. The objective of this camp is to provide health check-up as well as necessary assistive devices to the disabled people at one place, so that they do not have to visit offices and Pragya Centers again and again.
In this camp, eligible disabled people will be selected for motorized tricycle, wheelchair, hearing aid, crutches, walker and other assistive devices. Extensive preparations have been made by the local administration and health department for the event. So that more and more needy people can avail this facility.
Disabled people will get basic facilities
Organizers said that the disabled people coming to the camp will have to compulsorily bring Aadhar card, disability certificate, recent passport size photograph and UDID number with them. On the basis of these documents, the verification process will be completed and eligibility for assistive devices will be decided. Giving information, Dr. Manoj Singh said that the main objective of this camp is to provide basic facilities to the disabled people. In this testing camp, efforts will be made to solve every problem ranging from health check-up to disabled people. All the disabled people who are selected for the devices will be provided with necessary facilities as soon as possible, so that they can become self-reliant and get relief from the problems faced in daily life.
What is UDID Number?
The full name of UDID number is Unique Disability ID. This is a unique identification number issued by the Government of India to persons with disabilities. The objective of this scheme is to create a national database of disabled people across the country and to provide them direct benefits of government schemes and facilities. Important information like name, address, date of birth, type and percentage of disability is recorded in the UDID card. This card works as a unique identity just like the Aadhar card. By having UDID number, disabled people can easily avail the benefits of various government schemes, pension, scholarship, assistive devices, travel concessions and health facilities.
Application process completely online
The biggest advantage of UDID card is that there is no need to get disability certificate made again and again. Once registration is done, facilities can be availed through this card in any part of the country. The application process is completely online. Which can be done at the nearest cyber café or even yourself. This testing camp organized in Jharia is expected to provide great relief to the local disabled people and senior citizens. Getting investigation, selection and guidance on the same day and at one place will not only save time. Rather, the needy will also be able to get help in a respectable and accessible manner. The organizers have appealed to all the eligible disabled people and senior citizens to reach the camp with the necessary documents on the scheduled date and time and take maximum advantage of the facilities.
