Nisha Kumari of Hazaribagh has set a new example of women empowerment through her startup ‘Glow Melt’. They make scented and smokeless candles from soy wax in over 150 designs. This business, which started with his father’s suggestion and online training, is making him self-reliant today.
Hazaribagh: Nisha Kumari, a resident of Meru in Sadar block of the district, has today emerged as an inspiring example of women empowerment and self-employment. By transforming traditional candles into a new and attractive form, she has not only created a unique startup, but has also proved that with the right idea, hard work and family support, any woman can become self-reliant. Nisha is preparing attractive and fragrant candles in more than 150 designs through her company ‘Glow Melt’, the demand for which is increasing rapidly in both online and offline markets.
While talking to Local 18 Jharkhand, Nisha Kumari told that the idea of this startup is her father’s. During Diwali last year, his father suggested that the simple looking candles be created with new designs and fragrances, so that it could create a different identity. Taking this idea seriously, Nisha received 15 days of training through online medium and started making candles on the occasion of Christmas. Gradually this hobby turned into a business.
So many types of candles available
Today, the candles being prepared by Nisha are so realistic that at first glance it becomes difficult to recognize that they are candles. Candles made in unique designs like pickle, carrot halwa, full glass candle, bucket candle, teddy, cartoon character are attracting people a lot. The special thing is that their candles burn without smoke and have fragrances of different flavors, which fills the atmosphere with fragrance. Their candles are made of soy wax, due to which some candles can burn continuously for two days.
Nisha says that the specialty of her product is her biggest strength. This is the reason why the number of customers is continuously increasing. In the initial phase itself, she is earning around Rs 15 to 20 thousand a month and is working on a plan to increase this income further in the future. This startup is not only making them financially strong but is also becoming an inspiration for other women.

Nisha also makes customized candles, in which customers can hide their special messages. The message appears after some time of burning the candle, which makes it even more special.
