Lauki Burfi Recipe: Lauki Burfi made from bottle gourd is a traditional and healthy sweet, which can be easily prepared at home. Housewife Mohini Devi told that it is very easy to make barfi from bottle gourd. It can be made with less ingredients and less effort. The required ingredients for this are bottle gourd one kilogram, milk powder one cup, milk one cup, sugar 100 grams, desi ghee one tablespoon, cardamom powder half teaspoon, finely chopped almonds.

First of all, wash the bottle gourd, peel it and grate it coarsely. Pour some desi ghee in a pan and add grated bottle gourd into it and fry lightly for two minutes. Now add 100 grams of sugar in it and fry while stirring for two to four minutes, so that the water comes out from the gourd and the sugar dissolves well.
After this, add one cup of milk in it and cook on high flame for about 10 minutes. When the mixture starts thickening, add cardamom powder and milk powder to it. Now stir continuously and fry on high flame for 5 to 6 minutes, until the mixture starts leaving the pan. Switch off the gas and spread the prepared mixture evenly in a greased plate. Add finely chopped almonds on top and leave to set for about 4 hours. After freezing, cut into desired shapes.
Bottle gourd barfi is beneficial for taste as well as health. Bottle gourd is rich in fiber, which strengthens the digestive system. It cools the body and also helps in controlling weight.
