Flights cancelled, train wheels also halted... rail-air service halted due to fog in Lucknow

Lucknow News: Air and rail services have been badly affected due to fog in Lucknow. Three flights have been cancelled, while many are taking off late. Many major trains are also running late by several hours. Due to dense fog, normal life has become disrupted.

Lucknow News: Air services affected due to dense fog

Lucknow. The dense fog that has been prevailing in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow for the last few days has now become a cause of great trouble for the passengers. Air and rail services are being badly affected due to low visibility. Many flights were canceled at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, while many others were delayed by hours.
The effect of fog was clearly visible at the airport since this morning. Three flights were completely canceled.

from bengaluru Lucknow Incoming IndiGo flight 6E 903, IndiGo flight 6E 2108 from Lucknow to Delhi at 6:05 am and flight 6E 906 from Lucknow to Bengaluru have been cancelled. Apart from this, many international and domestic flights were delayed. Flight XY 896 coming from Dammam to Lucknow was delayed by about 7 hours. Air India flight AI 2499 coming from Delhi also reached Lucknow late. Flight XY 333 from Riyadh to Lucknow, which was scheduled to land at 7:45 am, will now land at 1:30 pm. Similarly, Indigo flight 6E 453 coming from Hyderabad to Lucknow will land at the airport at 4:50 pm instead of 1:55 pm. Foreign flights from Lucknow are also affected. Dammam bound flight XY 897, which was scheduled to depart at 6:15 am, will now take off at 2:05 pm. Flight XY 334 to Riyadh will depart at 2:10 pm instead of 8:05 am.

Many trains also late

The effect of fog is not limited to air services only. Rail traffic is also being disrupted badly. Many important trains are running late by hours. Gorakhdham Express was late by about 4 hours, Shramjeevi Express was late by 7 hours, Lucknow Mail, AC Express and Begumpura Express were also running late. Due to low visibility, passengers are facing a lot of trouble at the station and airport. Many passengers are forced to wait for hours. Some have even postponed their journey.

Effect of fog for next few days

The Meteorological Department has warned that foggy conditions will persist for the next few days. Passengers are requested to check the status of their flight or train first and travel only when necessary. Airport and railway officials said they are monitoring the situation and trying to normalize services as soon as possible. In this winter season, fog is causing problems in many districts of UP, but its effect is most visible in Lucknow.
