He told that if the electricity generated by the solar panel is more than the electricity used, then it is exported to the electricity department and if it is less then the electricity of the electricity corporation is input to the consumer. He told that under this scheme, the Central Government provides a subsidy of up to Rs 78 thousand to the consumers who install solar panels up to 3 kilo watts, and along with this, the state government in Haryana provides a subsidy of up to Rs 50,000 to the consumers of BPL category.

He told that under this scheme in Ambala, more than 800 people have taken the benefit of subsidy from the Central Government and along with this, more than 50 people in BPL category have taken the benefit of subsidy from both the Central Government and the State Government. He told that the cost of solar panel comes to around Rs 1 lakh for a 2 kilo watt connection and in this, a BPL category consumer takes a subsidy of Rs 60,000 from the central government and a subsidy of Rs 50,000 from the state government, due to which this solar panel connection gets absolutely free for him and he can take advantage of zero or low electricity bill for many years.
He said that the consumers availing benefits under this scheme are getting a lot of benefit in electricity bills and many people in Ambala are also taking advantage of it. He told that Rameshwar Das, who lives in Ambala, had an electricity bill of Rs 6200 in the ninth month of last year, after which, taking advantage of the subsidy from the Central Government, he installed a solar panel system at his house and now this year his electricity bill has come to zero. He said that to give the benefits of PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme to the people, he is organizing a Darbar in Ambala and along with this, people are being given the benefits of this scheme on the spot by setting up camps in rural areas.

He told that to avail the benefits of this scheme, people can apply online and for this you will first have to go to https://pmsuryaghar.gov.in/#/. After this you have to go to the Consumer page and then select Apply Now for the scheme. He said that after this
Then you open the login drop down menu and select Consumer Login. Then you will have to enter a valid registered consumer mobile number for registration. After this enter the captcha code and select Yes to accept all the guidelines.
After that click on Verify again and now OTP will come on your mobile number. After that you have to enter the OTP and then click on login. After logging in, details like name, email, pin code etc. have to be filled. Then click on Save and the registered consumer can click on “Apply for Solar Rooftop” and (or) submit the application through vendor selection. After this, the consumer can apply for solar rooftop by selecting the state, district and electricity distribution company/utility and entering the consumer account number. Then click on “Fetch Details” and after the consumer details are loaded, click on Next to submit the application.
