New Delhi. The incidence of fog is continuously increasing in North India. Its impact is reaching from roads to trains. Where accidents are happening on the expressway, trains are continuously getting late. Due to fog in North India on Wednesday, around 19 trains were running late by up to nine hours. This includes all the major trains including Rajdhani, Unchahar, Farakka Express. Indian Railways has released the list of these trains, so that passengers do not face inconvenience.
According to Himanshu Shekhar, CPRO of Northern Railway, there was dense fog on the night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Due to this, visibility reached zero at many places. Due to this, the speed of trains has slowed down and are running late. Passenger safety is a priority for the Railways. Because of this, trains are running slowly.

Express, 12229 Lucknow Mail, 12429 Lucknow – New Delhi AC Superfast Express, 12557 Sapt Kranti Superfast Express, 22417 Mahamana Express, 13257 Danapur – Anand Vihar Terminal Jansadharan Express, 14241 Nauchandi Express, 12405 Gondwana Superfast Express, 22455 Sainagar Shirdi – Kalka Superfast Express, 11841 Geeta Jayanti Express, 20807 Hirakud Express, 14508 Fazilka – Delhi Intercity Express are also running late.
What are the possibilities ahead?
Due to dense fog in North India, trains are continuously running late. On 15-16 December, 60 to 80 trains were delayed by several hours, some by up to 10 hours. Railways has reduced the speed of trains for safety. The affected routes include Delhi-Patna, Delhi-Lucknow and Purvanchal trains. Due to this, passengers are facing problems. They have to wait for hours at stations. Railways has advised to check train status on NTES app or 139 before travelling. The effect of fog will remain in the coming days also.
