Delhi Traffic Police has made the payment of traffic challan easier, increasing the convenience of the common man. Now people will be able to pay challan through Google Pay, PhonePe while sitting at home. After the implementation of this initiative, now you will be able to pay challan easily through any UPI based app. This step has been taken to promote cashless payments and strengthen transparency. New Delhi. Delhi Traffic Police has also now taken steps towards Digital India. All types of traffic challans of Delhi Traffic Police will now be on UPI i.e. UPI app. Delhi Traffic Police has started an important initiative towards making the convenience of common people easier, easier and stronger. Now Delhi Traffic Police has announced to link the traffic challan payment system with Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS). This historic decision will make challan payments accessible on all BBPS enabled Unified Payments Interface i.e. UPI platforms.
What is the purpose of the new initiative?
This step of Delhi Traffic Police is an important step towards promoting cashless transactions, transparency in payments and efficient traffic administration. Now this will make it easier for common people to pay challans to them by Delhi Traffic Police. Now they will not have to visit Delhi Traffic Police offices or police stations. Now he will be able to pay traffic challan while sitting at home.

Now passengers will be able to pay their challan through any major UPI application like Google Pay, PhonePe etc. in a secure, convenient and fast manner. It is believed that this will increase the volume of daily Marma payments, faster settlement of payments and will reduce dependence on physical payment methods. Delhi Traffic Police has signed an MoU with State Bank of India (SBI).
Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic Headquarters) Satya Veer Katara signed the MoU on behalf of Delhi Traffic Police. Now after the completion of the formalities in the next few days, this service will be started with the BBPS platform. This step of Delhi Traffic Police is in line with the ‘Digital India’ vision of the Central Government. This strengthens the police’s commitment to improving public service delivery through technology-based solutions.
