Hyderabad: A shocking revelation has come to light in the Bondi Beach shooting case, one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in Australia’s history. In the media reports till now, the attacker was being said to be of Pakistani origin. But Telangana Police has made it clear that the main accused Sajid Akram was originally a resident of Hyderabad. This revelation has alerted the security agencies. However, the police has also clarified that Sajid had left India about 27 years ago. India has nothing to do with his radicalization process or this attack. As soon as this news came out, there was a stir.
Sajid Akram left the country 27 years ago, police statement
Telangana Police has issued a detailed statement after its investigation. According to police, Sajid Akram had completed B.Com from Hyderabad. After this he went to Australia in November 1998. In the last 27 years, his visits to Hyderabad were very infrequent.
He had come to India only 6 times in these years. He also used to come only to meet his elderly parents or to settle property related matters. The police have clarified that he did not have any criminal record before leaving India. His son Naved Akram (24) and daughter were both born in Australia and are citizens there. Sajid had an Indian passport, but his thinking completely changed while abroad.

This horrifying incident happened on Sunday at Sydney’s famous Bondi Beach. The ‘Hanukkah’ festival of the Jewish community was going on there. Then 50 year old Sajid Akram and his son Naved reached there. They started firing indiscriminately at the crowd from an elevated walkway.

The investigating agencies are now investigating the recent foreign trips of Sajid and Naved. It is learned that both of them had gone to Philippines only last month. The Philippines’ Immigration Department has confirmed that they arrived there on 1 November and returned on 28 November.
Australian police suspect that the purpose of this trip may be to take ‘military style training’. At present its investigation is going on. Sajid had some legal weapons, but many illegal weapons were also recovered. After this incident, the demand for making gun laws more stringent in Australia has started rising.
