The girl was cremated as she was not identified within the stipulated time. But during their investigation, the police arrested the accused Bilal within a week.

The story of Uma’s murder starts from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh and reaches Himachal Pradesh. The police have taken the accused on remand for 4 days and have also recovered Uma’s severed head. After murdering 30-year-old Uma of Halalpur village in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, accused Bilal threw her in the forest near the border of Himachal and Haryana, while her body was thrown in a nursery in Bahadurgarh village of Yamunanagar. Half the clothes were missing from the body.

It is noteworthy that Uma had run away from home 12 years ago and got married. Uma was married and mother of children, but she was having a rift with her husband and started living separately. During this time Uma met Bilal.

On December 6, Bilal took Uma in the car on the pretext of taking her out for a ride and then reached Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh via Haryana. Here he searched for a hotel to spend the night, but he could not find a room anywhere in the hotel. In such a situation, both of them entered Yamunanagar. Bilal first wanted to kill Uma near Kalesar. But there was a lot of movement of vehicles there. Then he chose Bahadurpur village of Yamunanagar and strangulated her with the seat belt of the car. Then the head was thrown in Kalesar near Laldhang, 12 km away on the border of Haryana and Himachal.

When the dead body was found, the police started the search.

After a semi-nude body was found in the nursery on December 7, the police kept trying for identification. Rape was not confirmed in the post-mortem. However, one thing was certain that the girl had been murdered. Teams were formed under the leadership of DSP Rajat Gulia and Ashish Chaudhary. The police started scanning the CCTV footage. When the police investigated the movement of vehicles, they found clues and then reached Saharanpur. Then the whole secret of Bilal was revealed. During police interrogation, Bilas told that after killing Uma, he severed her neck with a knife so that she could not be identified. Bilal felt that Uma’s dead body would be eaten by wild animals. It is noteworthy that on December 13, the police had arrested Bilal. The next day he was preparing to take out a wedding procession with his brother.
