Shashi Tharoor Supports Priyanka Gandhi: Congress Party MP Shashi Tharoor has supported his party in the Lok Sabha after a long time. Opposing the bill brought by the Central Government for Vikas Bharat Ji Ram Ji Yojana in place of MNREGA, Shashi Tharoor said that do not do this work, do not defame the name of Ram. He joined Priyanka Gandhi’s voice on this issue.
Shashi Tharoor Supports Priyanka Gandhi: The Central Government on Tuesday presented the developed Bharat Ji Ram Ji Bill in the Lok Sabha. Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan introduced this bill. There was a brief discussion in the House when the bill was introduced. During this, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi opposed this bill. He said that due to the frenzy of changing the name of every scheme, the expenditure on the country is increasing. He also said that there are many provisions in this bill on which the opposition has objection. The biggest concern in this is the Centre’s participation in the expenses of implementing this scheme. The Centre’s participation in the MNREGA scheme is 90 percent, whereas in this proposed law its participation will reduce to 60 percent. All opposition members opposed this bill. In the same sequence, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also spoke.
Do not defame Ram’s name
Shashi Tharoor opposed changing the name of this scheme and said that he used to sing in his childhood. Look, you crazy people, don’t do this thing, don’t defame Ram’s name. Through this song, Shashi Tharoor protested against changing the name of the bill. During this, he also opposed the reduction in expenditure by the Central Government in this proposed bill. In this bill, the participation of the Central Government has been fixed at 60 percent and the participation of the states has also been fixed at 40 percent. He said that words from two languages have been used in the name of this scheme. This is a violation of Article 340 of the Constitution. He also said that this is playing with the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that removing the name of Mahatma Gandhi is not just removing a name but destroying the soul of this scheme. This scheme was brought to improve the living conditions of crores of underprivileged people.
SP MP protested
After the bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha, many other members opposed it. Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman said that no person greater than Mahatma Gandhi was ever born in the world. After the death of Mahatma Gandhi, except the flag of Soviet Russia, there was hardly any flag in the world which was not lowered in his honour. But these people (BJP) get excited on hearing the name of Gandhi… Why are they doing all this? It would have been better if it had been named Godse Yojana. The review should have focused on how effective the scheme has been. The economic condition of the states is not good and it is not appropriate to put more burden on them. Many other members opposed this bill and said that it is an insult to the Father of the Nation.
