Sitamarhi. The Education Department has announced a big relief for the teachers who mark attendance through mobile app in government schools. Now teachers’ salaries will not be deducted if online attendance is not recorded due to technical reasons. The Education Department has clarified that in such a situation, salary will be paid on the basis of physical presence. This decision has brought relief to thousands of teachers across Bihar, including the district, who were facing unnecessary salary cuts due to technical glitches in the network, server or app.
According to the instructions issued by the Education Department, the salaries of teachers whose salaries have been cut due to technical reasons will also be refunded. Director of Primary Education Sahila has issued necessary guidelines in this regard to the District Education Officer (DEO) and District Program Officer (Establishment) of all the districts. It has been said in the instructions that salary payment should be ensured on the basis of physical presence by obtaining clarification and proof from the teachers as per rules. This will free the teachers who come to school honestly from mental and financial troubles.
Why was teachers’ attendance not recorded?
It is noteworthy that online attendance system was implemented in government schools with the aim of curbing lateness and absence of teachers without notice. However, many times due to technical glitches, teachers’ attendance could not be recorded even though they were present in the school. Because of this, dissatisfaction was increasing among teachers and the department was continuously receiving complaints. Now after the new instructions, this problem is expected to be solved to a great extent.
marked and clarification will be sought
At the same time, the department has also made it clear that this relief is only for teachers affected due to technical reasons. Strict action will be taken against teachers who deliberately come late or remain absent without permission. Teacher Krishnanandan Kumar said that teachers against whom complaints of lateness or absence have been made by the head teacher or principal will be identified and an explanation will be sought. If satisfactory answers are not received, action will be taken against the concerned teachers as per rules. On one hand, this step of the Education Department will provide relief to honest teachers, on the other hand it will also prove helpful in curbing indiscipline.
