Villager Sarita Devi has shared an easy recipe of tikki made from potato and carrot. He told that the ingredients required to make tikkis from potato and carrot are two boiled potatoes, one cup grated carrot, one finely chopped onion, one finely chopped green chilli, two tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves, one spoon of ginger-garlic paste, salt as per taste, half a spoon of red chilli powder, half a spoon of garam masala, one spoon of coriander powder, half a spoon of chaat masala, two spoons of gram flour, two spoons of semolina and oil as per requirement.

To make potato-carrot tikki, first wash the carrots thoroughly and grate them. Put grated carrots in a big vessel and mash the boiled potatoes and mix them. Now add finely chopped onion, green chilli, ginger-garlic paste and coriander leaves. After this add salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and chaat masala and mix all the ingredients well.
Now add gram flour and semolina to this mixture, so that the tikkis bind well and become crispy. Apply some oil on your hands, take small portions from the mixture, make round balls and flatten them slightly. Heat the pan, add some oil and fry the tikkis on low flame until they become golden and crispy. When the tikkis are ready, serve them hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato sauce.
Potato-carrot tikki is not only tasty but also beneficial for health. The fiber, vitamin A and antioxidants present in carrots help in improving eyesight and strengthening immunity, which are especially important in winter.
