PM Modi Visit News Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his three-nation tour on Monday and reached Jordan as the first stop. He highly praised the leadership here for the fight against terrorism. He said that Jordan is fighting strongly against terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism and it stands with India in this thinking.
Prime Minister Modi said – ‘Our first meeting was on global forums related to the fight against violent extremism. Even then, clear thinking and strong faith were visible in your words. Under your leadership, Jordan has been continuously sending a strong message against terrorism, extremism and fundamentalism. In Amman, Prime Minister Modi held delegation-level talks with King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan. During this, he said that India and Jordan have similar and clear thinking against terrorism.
What did the King of Jordan say?
King Abdullah II of Jordan welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the people of Jordan welcome him again. He said that this visit holds special significance because India and Jordan are completing 75 years of diplomatic relations. King Abdullah said that this visit of Prime Minister Modi reflects the decades-old friendship, mutual respect and strong cooperation between the two countries. He also said that the partnership between India and Jordan is strong and both the countries want to work together to enhance the prosperity of their people. During this period, several MoUs were signed between India and Jordan including culture, renewable energy, water management, digital public infrastructure and twinning agreement between Petra-Ellora. These agreements are expected to give new strength to India-Jordan bilateral relations and friendship.
