To make coconut laddu, take 2 cups fresh grated coconut or dry coconut (bura), 1 cup condensed milk or 1 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons ghee, 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder and 10–12 finely chopped cashews or almonds. If you want, you can also use raisins to decorate.
First of all heat ghee in the pan. Add grated coconut to it and fry it on low flame for 2-3 minutes, so that the rawness goes away and the aroma starts coming. After this add condensed milk and mix well. If using sugar, add sugar after roasting the coconut a little and keep stirring continuously.

Cook the mixture of coconut and milk or sugar on medium flame while stirring continuously. When it starts thickening and separating from the pan, add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits to it. Mix all the ingredients well and turn off the gas.
Let the mixture cool down a bit so that your hands do not burn. After this, apply some ghee on the palms and make small laddus from the mixture. Shape all the laddus in the same way. If you want, you can also decorate by applying some dry coconut on top.
Coconut laddu can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 5-7 days. These laddus are also a great option for puja, prasad or children’s tiffin.
